The crazy power slides and vicious red shells are back! Mario Kart 64 was one of the earliest hits of the Nintendo 64 and is still considered by many as one of the best episodes of Nintendo's classic kart series. Several reasons justify such a high reputation. The 4-player multiplayer provides some of the most entertaining sessions ever. The driving experience has been refined with the addition of several advanced techniques. And the various tracks are filled with clever ideas and hidden shortcuts.

Unfortunately, for technical reasons, it will be impossible to save "ghost data" (replay data of your best times in Time Trials mode) in this version. We apologise for the inconvenience.

Whilst definently showing its age, Mario Kart still retains the core aspects of the games - the racing and the items.  If you're a great fan of the Mario Kart series and want some more courses to race on, this is a must have.  If you enjoy the multiplayer but would like some more courses to play on, this is a must have.

Overall, this is a must have game.

I just do not see what the big fuss about this game is about!

Yes it is a Mario kart game but it is just a little annoying compared to other N64 titles avalible.

Power-sliding is hard enough but the annoying "drive into another player and spin-around" feature is very annoying.

If you have not played this game before, I would rate it around 84%, if you already have played it and want to "re-visit" your childhood memory of this game, you may be a bit dissapointed.

Put simply, its mario kart. It's what youd expect from any mario kart game; racing round varied, fun slightly crazy tracks using items to help you win. However, it can only really be enjoyed properly in multiplayer as playing by youreself wil soon get repetative, but its a blast with a 2 or more players. If you havent already had the pleasure of a mario kart game this is a great place to start, or if you already have it's still worth £7.50 for a load of different tracks.
