In this sprawling action-RPG, Mario may be two-dimensional but his adventure is anything but thin! Paper Mario brilliantly blends the heroic plumber’s platform antics with a hilarious quest full of offbeat characters and wacky challenges.

Released to critical acclaim in 2001, Paper Mario takes you on an exciting journey through the Mushroom Kingdom to release the Star Spirits imprisoned by a power-hungry Bowser.

Along the way you’ll fight enemies in entertaining turn-based battles, team up with a variety of uniquely skilled partners, discover secret minigames and even bake a cake!

The Paper Mario series has spanned 3 games so far (not including the Japan only Super Mario RPG), this being the first and probably best. Gameplay is fantastic, with a real deep story. Graphics are nice - 2D characters on a 3D polygonal backdrops really works well here. The quest is long enough to keep most gamers satisfied, and with plenty of secrets to finish afterwards (Badges - Gotta Catch 'Em All), youll be left satisfied. The finest RPG on N64.

I've played all 3 paper Mario games and must say I loved them all.  The games have their own unique graphics style and each game in the series features it's style of gameplay.  All the games feature a compelling storyline, with lots of humor.  It is only when you replay the games that you realise the true subtlety of the text - references to what's going to happen next and references to other games and to glass screen they're stuck behind.

A must have for not only excellent gameplay, but also the laughter it'll provide.

If you get annoyed at getting stuck at a certain prt of the game and talking to alot of people to find the answer (e.g: ANY Zelda title) this is not the game you want.

Paper Mario is funny, addictive and very challenging, it just needed better graphics and an even better story-line for me to approve it fully.
